Round Up Of This Week’s Latest Football News

by Fans-Zone

This week has brought some exciting football news, mainly from Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Probably the main piece of news this week is, yet again, regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed move to Real Madrid. The twenty three year old had ankle surgery this week, and will probably be unable to play for about three months, but that didn’t stop the transfer rumours, with Sir Alex Ferguson saying that although he did not worry about the Ronaldo transfer saga, it would be the biggest mistake of the winger’s life to leave Manchester United and join Real Madrid, and Ferguson’s claims are backed up by footballing legend Pele, who also thinks the Portuguese star should stay put.

Other news is regarding the ongoing transfers at Arsenal FC, with three of their best midfielders (Matthieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb and Grilberto Silva) all leaving the club to seek their fortunes abroad. Arsene Wenger laughed away claims that this would affect his team, however, saying that he has already signed Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsey, and plans to buy more players in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have filed two complaints this week, one of which was against Manchester United, and the other one was regarding Liverpool. Tottenham Hostpur claim that both United and Liverpool acted unlawfully by trying to sign strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane, although both of the clubs denied any wrong doing, saying they behaved within the rules.

It hasn’t been a good week for Liverpool, with the complaint from Spurs and also a groin injury to star midfielder Steven Gerrard. The England midfielder has not attended training this week due to the injury, but Rafa Benitez claims that Gerrard will be fit again very soon, and he was sent home from training to rest.
